Welcome to the Largest HBCU Event in Ohio! Here are a few reminders for the week: High School Tours – If you are participating with one of these special high school visits, be sure that you have followed the necessary steps to complete the Common Black College Application prior to our arrival. Saturday Registration – At the registration check-in, all pre-registered students will receive a raffle ticket for your participation for the day. We will also offer onsite registration for those late comers. Program, Schedule, & Workshop Sessions – There will be a rousing opening session at 10:00am. The actual fair will begin at the conclusion of this session. There will be a variety of workshops at set at 11:00am and 1:00pm. As much as possible, we will keep to the outline of the day. Download THE HBCU APP in your Apple Store or Google Play for the event program, a map of the building, workshop schedule and descriptions, surveys and evaluations. WIFI Access – To save on using a ton of paper at the fair, you can also access the host school’s WiFi for the day. We encourage you to use your Smartphone’s, tablets, iPads to access these items online (if you don’t have 4G access on your device). Please use the following hashtags in your messaging. #CLEHBCUFair, #GetEDUcated and #GoodTimesFair. SENIORS – COME WITH AN EXPECTATION, LEAVE WITH A PURPOSE. REMEMBER TO BRING COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS, TEST SCORES, RECOMMENDATION LETTERS, AND ESSAYS SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE AN INFORMED CONVERSATION WITH VARIOUS RECRUITERS. YOU HAVE THE POTENTIAL OF LEAVING WITH A COLLEGE ACCEPTANCE LETTER AND SCHOLARSHIP. Don’t forget to complete the Common Black College Application. Parking – Parking is on a first come, first serve basis. There are some reserved sections for the recruiters and vendors. Please follow the directions of the safety and security personnel. Buses and vans should drop off students in the front of the building then park across the street in the church parking lot. End of Event – Please be advised that the college fair ends at 3:00pm. Safety and Security, custodial staff, and school administration have been instructed to clear the building so that the building can be quickly prepared for the step show. If you are not in a designated area with supervision and with the appropriate college fair/step show personnel or school staff, you may be asked to leave the building.
